Wow! It’s been a while since my last post. It seems like yesterday that I boxed up my spices (which, by the way, is working wonderfully). Christmas was a blur. A good blur. But still a blur. We had a wonderful time with our family.
I took down my tree on the 26th. I usually like to milk every ounce of enjoyment out of my $40 tree and leave it up through New Year’s Day. This year, however, I felt the need to get it down quickly, sweep up the annoying little thingies off the floor (fronds? leaves?), and resume life. For weeks now, and for whatever reason, there has been a little voice in my head saying, “Come on, Bee. Let’s get this show on the road.” 2009 cannot get here quickly enough.
At first, for me, the ringing in of 2009 meant hope. Change. Progression. But, while I was busy wrapping presents, things shifted. Reality set in. Some of the things I was looking so forward to are not going to happen (and I’ve got approximately 39 hours to get over that). And, while I want nothing more than to take a good month or two to sulk and wallow in the “why-me” of it all. I don’t have the time for it because, hel-loh-oh, 2009 is coming. And a Bug is getting bigger by the day. And a Wog is getting smarter by the minute.
Lots to ‘tend to, my friends. Lots to ‘tend to.

No. No. But my kids and husband are threatening. Hubby would like something celtic so he says. I think he just says he wants one because he tends to be passive aggressive and knows he can get me worked up a bit. My son and his wife watch LA Ink every week. They even have a couple friends come over to watch with them. We have a friend that might end up on the show. I’ll let you know if that ever comes about…
My dad has one. I thought of getting one when I was 18 but, never could decide on “it”. Now, I’m pretty sure of what I’d get but, my hubs hates the idea and I don’t want one bad enough to make a big deal about it.
Love LA Ink!
Have a tat on my left hip and REALLY regret that I got it when I was going through a bad breakup. It is of a dolphin and it was cute at the time but has absolutely no meaning to be at 31-years-old. I want to go get it covered up with something else. Thinking of getting some intricate cross so it will cover up the old one. Wish I could go to LA and let Kat do it!
Tempted once, but never went through with it. I like tasteful ones though.
You are cool enough to pull it off.
You should get a great big one of Spidey and Venom going at it right down your left calf muscle!
Except you might not like it later. Just a suggestion!
I have always wanted to get one, but my husband is in the “tattoos are trashy” camp. He insists that shouldn’t prevent me from getting one myself, but I can’t bring myself to do it for that very reason. If I ever get up the courage, I’ve taken a liking to this wrist tattoos. I might consider a thistle because of my Scottish heritage. But maybe that isn’t spiritual enough
My friend has “The Gospel of Peace” in Greek written on her foot, and I’ve always thought that was pretty cool too.
I have no ink, but thought about it a few times. Now I’m just here to encourage you to go for it.
I just posted last night about watching it while working on my curtains. She is just really cool in a funky way. (And my husband and I decided after last night that Steve-O is really into Kat!) I’m too scared of pain to get one!
I was just about to say Diann just posted about LA INK. I love Miami & LA. (Except for really, Ami and Kat Von D have got to work on their voice overs! The whole show that’s NOT the tattoos is so scripted it irritates me.
ANYWAY. I don’t have any tattoos. I just can’t think of anything I like enough to permanently get on my body! My dad got his first tattoo last year at 50. Now he’s got 3. I hear they are addictive!
I’m thinking you should get a shoe. You know…
I do kind of like LA Ink because it is not a show that I would normally watch. I think Kat is really interesting. I have thought about tatoos, but then I think also about the tiny needles prickling my skin and well that does it for me. I’m a wimp! But I really like the ones you put on with a wet washrag!!!
too funny about the book your hubby bought! have fun and do it-again! when i was 26, i was traveling with my job and always got to meet fun friends everywhere i went. one night, m. got the shamrock and i went for the belly button ring. LOVED it! only took it out to have babies. hope to put it back one day. although getting a crochet-type needle shoved through the belly ain’t no fun. the results were cool and removeable which was my deal.
No and no, but I see nothing wrong with them as long as you can cover them up when needed. It may be wrong, but I can’ help but think “trashy” when I see a woman in a business skirt suit with a big ole tat on her ankle. Or a woman in a strapless wedding dress with some huge tat across her back. Take Angelina…some people say she’s the sexiest woman in the world, but when she goes all glam and I see those tats, I can’t help but find her just a little…dirty. Even though those tats means something. I’m not saying I’m right, that’s just how I feel when I see it.
My tattoo has no significance to me and that sometimes makes me sad, but like you, I was 18 and it was “cool” (and free, but that’s another story…). I am definitely getting 2 more, one will be after we’ve had all our kids and I’ll design something with each of “them” in it somehow. Hopefully it won’t be big, but I’m looking forward do it. Tim loves my tattoo, but he’s scared I’ll get the tramp-stamp look by putting them where I want them and where he doesn’t. I might do it anyways without telling him first
And I totally have a chick-crush on KVD – she’s so hot!
I have two tattoos. A tiny butterfly on my back and four stars (green, red, blue and purple) on my foot!
hi! Came over from Diann’s to see about kat von d. I love her. Although I think if I ever got another tattoo I would want Hannah to do it because her color work is SO GREAT. I do have a small one- got it when I was 20 and breaking up with the boyfriend who thought tattoos were trashy. I still like it though.
